Transjakarta Gears Up for Post-Eid Return Rush

To handle the Eid return rush, Transjakarta has extended its service hours and implemented 24-hour operations.

We are shifting our focus to intermodal connectivity

Capacity on routes integrated with transport hubs—such as stations and terminals—has also been boosted by 20–50% over normal levels.

Transjakarta Public Relations and CSR Head, Ayu Wardhani said the initiative prepares for rising ridership at key arrival hubs like train stations and intercity terminals during the end-of-March return peak.

Eid Return Flow: 4,652 Intercity Bus Passengers Reach Kalideres

"For the March 13–29 period, we are shifting our focus to intermodal connectivity and first-last mile service," she noted, Thursday (3/26).

She stated that routes connected to transit hubs now feature a 50% frequency boost, extended hours until 11:59 PM, and operational patterns aligned with train and intercity bus arrivals.

Strengthened routes comprise BRT Corridors 2A, 4D, and 7F, along with Integrated Public Transport (AUI) lines such as Tanah Abang–Blok M, Senen–Tanah Abang, and Manggarai–Blok M.

Service boosts are concentrated at strategic hubs such as Gambir, Pasar Senen, Manggarai, and Tanah Abang stations, as well as Pulo Gebang Terminal.

"Transjakarta is deploying more buses than usual at these sites and increasing frequency to avoid passenger congestion," she noted.

Beyond reinforcing integration, Transjakarta’s 24-hour services remain active on key corridors including Corridors 2, 4, 5, 11, and 14.

"Particulary, 11 additional buses were stationed at Pulo Gebang Terminal between March 25 and 27, 2026, to accommodate the peak return rush," she noted.

She explained that this strategy adjusts standard operations to meet Eid demand.

According to Ayu, travel patterns during the return peak vary from usual; consequently, Transjakarta is boosting services on routes connected to transport hubs by up to 50%. This measure aims to help customers complete the final leg of their trip faster and with greater comfort.

“Through this strategy, Transjakarta strengthens its position as the backbone of the city’s integrated transport network, especially during high-traffic moments like the post-Eid return rush,” she stated.
